BSOD and HD recognition in bios and windows setup

I know I'm a noob, but any help would be appreciated!

Here are my system specs.

ABIT NF7-S
Athlon XP 2400+ Mobile (OC'd slightly to 1.9)
512x2 PC3200 DDR Kingston ValueRAM (Running Dual Channel)
Western Digital 74.3 Gig Raptor
Sapphire 9800Pro
Antec 380W True PS
Running Win2K Pro at the moment, hoping to upgrade to XP Pro.

I get BSODs ALL THE TIME and I decided I just couldn't take it anymore so I thought before I resorted to calling it bad hardware, I would try to reformat. Well, I popped in the XP disc and it didn't recognize my harddrive. So I check in my bios, sure enough, it wasn't there. I opened up the case, checked all my cables, made sure everything was working, it's all ok.

I've tried a few things, but no matter what I do, Windows setup refuses to recognize the drive. However, it's completely recognized in Windows.

Has anyone ever experienced this before? Have any suggestions? Does it sound like bad hardware?

I'm stumped, I appreciate any help you all can give! Thanks!

OK, so if I don't with one stick, should I switch them out and try the one I'm not using?

I'll give that a shot, thanks!

Your timing might be off for dual channel, etc. Just want to make sure it can run stable with one stick, etc.

I've tried changing mem timings, but I don't really know much about them so I don't really know what to change it TO. It's running at 9-4-4-2.5 right now by someone else's recommendation. I haven't BSODed AS MUCH since I changed to that from 8-3-3-3.

When I first got the RAM, I used memtest86, but I'll definitely try again.

Thanks again guys!
