BSOD after installing USB wireless adapter drivers?!?

Hey all, i'm having trouble installing my usb wireless adapter. I've been using a PCI Wireless card, but the signal is just terrible. I get kicked off on average 5 or 6 times an hour. So I picked up a Linksys WUSB11 rev 2.8 USB adapter so the signal can go from the back of the computer (in a closed desk) to the top of the desk for better signal. So I disabled the PCI card in device manager, and disbled the wireless connection that was using the card so it wouldn't infere with the USB adapter. However, I didn't actually remove the physical card from the board. Anyways, I went ahead and plug the adapter in, installed the drivers, and rebooted when it was all said and done. Windows boots, I sign in, and about 15 seconds into loading windows up, I get a BSOD_DRIVER_SQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL shyte screen.

So far i've booted in safe mode to uninstal, since I can't get into windows without getting the bsod, and I delete every trace of the adapter. I boot up fine, and try reinstall just to make sure. Same bsod on every windows desktop i boot. What's the problem here?

Note - The USB adapter is pluged into the usb ports on my Dell Widescreen, if that makes a difference?

Are you installing the drivers first, before plugging in the nic? Some need for you to do this. My wife has a usb wireless nic that will only sometimes work in a powered hub, but always works on an extention cable plugged into the mb.
