I tell you it never fails when they put out a new bios or driver something just has to go wrong. I installed the latest K8N 1.50 bios update and now i keep getting bsod with IRQ's, mini_port.sys and many other issues so I have reverted back to the saved bios and still have errors popping up bsod happening while playing farcry. .
I will reinstall farcry and will try to some how save and overwrite the new install with the old saved games if that will work.
I swear I will never do the bios again geesh who needs all the headaches that go with that update! Seems we fast become the beta tester for the crap wares.
My nostromo also began having problems after the bios update.
Another thing I just noticed was that the realtek audio, the USB controller and all of the usb devices are loading on IRQ 20 and I still have 6 IRQ's available for use between the upper 1-15. In the bios you can only reserve through the first 15. I dont think I can even assign the irq's on this board. hmm.... This could explain the problem with the nostromo being it is usb.
Here is what IRQs look like with realtek disabled in bios.
System Information report written at: 03/19/2005 08:17:05 AM
[IRQs]
IRQ Number Device
9 Microsoft ACPI-Compliant System
3 NVIDIA nForce PCI System Management
20 Standard OpenHCD PCI to USB Host Controller
20 Standard OpenHCD PCI to USB Host Controller
20 Standard Enhanced PCI to USB Host Controller
14 NVIDIA CK8S Parallel ATA Controller (v2.5)
15 NVIDIA CK8S Parallel ATA Controller (v2.5)
16 NVIDIA GeForce4 Ti 4200
16 Realtek RTL8169/8110 Family Gigabit Ethernet NIC #2
8 System CMOS/real time clock
13 Numeric data processor
6 Standard floppy disk controller
4 Communications Port (COM1)
1 Standard 101/102-Key or Microsoft Natural PS/2 Keyboard
Used to be on my old via board the graphics card would install on 9, the audio card on 10 and the ethernet on 11 and the usb never had a problem with and that was with fewer irqs. So whats up? Can I assign IRQ's through windows. It appears I can only reserve IRQ's but cannot assign them in the bios I dont think, will look again.
Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks cya
