Hey folks,

need a troubleshooting assist. My friend has asked me to help TS his machine. He has 4x4gb sticks, currently running 2 in dimm1/3 for 8gigs. When he puts in the other sticks, the computer boots, recognizes the ram, and bluescreens at reboot. Below are the specs.

Dell SX4850-45u running Win 7 home prof. x64

Intel core i5-2300 @ 2.80 (overclocked to 3.10)
8GB Corsair DDR3 1333 (with 2 slots to spare)

Any help would be appreciated.

Maybe bad ram. Try 2 sticks at a time, testing the new ram. Also, try running at default settings.

have you run the memtest to confirm ?

i had a friend recently ran 4 sticks and it keeps erroring out in memtest but not when 2 sticks are in at the same time. end up giving him a new motherboard and 4 sticks works

Bring CPU and everything else to stock speeds.
And check in BIOS that memory latency is set to the correct value.
