I'm going to Salt Lake City for business next month and I'm planning on taking a few vacation days.

Should I spend my free time in the Bryce Canyon ares or the Dinasaur land area?

This will be my first visit to Utah.

I'm planning on leaving on a Sunday and returning the following Sunday. my meetings are on Thursday and Friday. Is there enoungh stuff to do to keep me from getting bored?

By the way, I'm staying at the Grand America from Weds - Sunday. Looks like a nice place. Suites are 800 sqft!

Usually when I'm travelling I like to visit museums and botanical gardens. I also like to see old homes/historic areas/neighborhoods.

I like scenic beauty too but I don't want to spend my whole vacation driving.

A good two days can be spent at Thanksgiving Point and the North American Museum of Ancient Life. Thanksgiving Point has some extraordinary gardens and rockwork. It is huge too, so you have a lot to explore. They are right next to each other as well, which makes them very convenient. The Hansen Planetarium and the Museum of Natural History at the U of U would be another good bet for a single day. If you are into tours of government buildings, the Utah State Capitol is gorgeous, so is the City-County Building (on the same page as the state capitol).

Thanks, I think I'll spend the spend Sunday through Tuesday in Provo and Wed - Sunday in SLC and take day trips from their. Don't think I'm up to driving to Vernal or Bryce Canyon.

Yeah, Bryce is beautiful, but in June, it'll be incredible hot. Vernal just sucks. Very boring. Thanksgiving Point is right between SLC and Provo. You'll most likely drive right past it on I-15 as you go to and fro.
