The CIA and the government as a wholes failed attempt the protect us from "The Bad Guys".

Written by a CIA field officer who served from 1976 through 1997 mostly in the middle east, he tried to stem the tide of terrorism coming out of there, he had his hands tied by government bureaucracy at almost every turn.

Anyone who's ever worked for the government in any capacity at all knows that you almost always have your hands tied by bureaucracy whenever you want to do *anything* at all. It's not really news.
