Brutal Microtransactions in Guitar Hero Live

Apparently, Guitar Hero Live is testing out a new Microtransaction model where you can only play the currently "streaming" song (think random mix of songs like Pandora) without paying for a pack of in-game currency which only temporarily unlocks the song.

There is no way to permanently unlock a new song.

This is crazy. It's a $60 game with a $40 controller, no way to buy new songs permanently, and it only has 42 songs compared to previous versions' 93.

And don't you unlock them with "coins" you earn playing the game normally or purchase in microtransactions? It's ridiculous either way.

Of course they will make the excuse that it's some BS licensing issue from the record label but that would be lies.

Yes but you still can't "unlock" them permanently.

Yeah that's what I thought. Completely ridiculous.

Also I'm not sure which company made the decision to "revitalize" this genre first but I love how the other side was like NUH UH WE'RE DOING IT TOO and then BAM suddenly it's six years ago again: Rock Band vs Guitar Hero.
