Just read this interesting story over @ the Boston Herald...

Interest in outdoors
By Stephen Harris
Tuesday, November 25, 2003

WILMINGTON - In the wake of Saturday's highly successful and profitable outdoor game in Edmonton between the Oilers and Montreal Canadiens, New England Patriots vice chairman Jonathan Kraft said in a radio interview Sunday that his family would love to have the Bruins play an outdoor game at Gillette Stadium.

For Bruins players, that sounds like a wonderful idea. ``Sign us up,'' said Mike Knuble. ``I'd want to do it. I'd do it in a second. ``I'd love it. It'd be amazing to see all those people. Just the whole production of the thing would be great to see. It takes you back to your roots, playing on the ponds and back yards.''

I would be *so* there... 😀

I think a lot of team would like to do it. I've heard Montreal, Toronto, Calgary, Ottawa & Detroit have an interest in an outdoor game.

Unfortunately Vancouver does not have the climate for an outdoor game 🙁

They do realize that if everyone starts to do this, it won't be so special anymore, right? I think what really made the game in Edmonton special was the alumni match.

No worries...if the last game between the B's and the Canucks was any indication, they would be a perfect opponent to play in our outdoor game. 🙂

True, but I don't think we are anywhere near that though. You could say the B's alumni game could be a pretty cool game too. I think the outdoor game thing would really work best with the older NHL teams..that have the history. Having an outdoor game in Columbus might be a bit of a stretch..😉
