This is why I'm looking forward to being a parent. I'm totally playing with Legos again once my kid is old enough.

My 5 year old calls them the "skinny blocks". Him, my 18 month old, and myself love to play legos. We don't use the directions, and he's better at creating things than I am. It's awesome, you will have a blast.

Glad you like them. I got introduced to them when I took my son to one of his friend's birthday party. His friend had the Mack Dump truck with a snow plow attachment and my son would NOT put it down.

I still have a huge Tonka dump truck and fire truck (that actually squirts water!) from when I was 5. They were so sturdy you could ride on them

Shows how well they built that stuff. The new Tonka products are all plastic. It's a shame. I had all of these at one time:

So the crane I ordered for my son arrived at my office today. I did not appreciate how big it was going to be. With the boom extended,the height of the crane is 51.2 inches, or slightly more than 4 feet.

I enjoyed tearing up part of our little median strip in our driveway as a child with all my old-school Tonka trucks. Those were a blast and survived pretty much everything you subjected them too... though, after being left partially exposed to the elements for quite a few years, rust could become an issue like we discovered with ours - improper storage is to blame, of course - steel is obviously something you have store properly if you want to avoid rust.
