Bruce the giant goldfish, as big as a cat.

That's big, but no normal goldfish can be that big - it's all in the breeding. Often parks have fonds with massive goldfish.

I had goldfish over half that size living in an oak wine barrell, you having goldfish bigger than that wouldn't surprise me... you sure they're not Koi, though?

Anyway, 15 inches doesn't seem that big

I've seen goldfish over a foot long before, but never that kind. The big ones I've seen look kinda like carp/koi. What type do you have?

Yeah, I don't have that breed (I think they're ugly!), I have $0.10 feeder fish. They look just like Koi, but have larger scales (more carp-ish looking, and a 1/100th the price).
 
coi / carp get HUGE.. i've seen them nearly 3 feet long before. This is like a regular goldfish though-- they get big, but i've never seen one that big before.

I have been told that both koi and goldfish taste bad. Dunno myself though. 😛

A. No. Koi and goldfish were both originally bred from carp. Koi can breed with carp, but not with goldfish. Koi have barbels (wiskers), goldfish do not.

Yeah I buy those too, they aren't that big and don't last too long in salt water (which is ok because they get eaten anyways) I don't know though, I think Bruce would make my fish think twice about eating him.

 
That's true - the big goldfish I refer to are just really colored carp or something. If this is a tried and true goldfish that's just been made to screw other freak goldfish it's pretty impressive.
