Bruce Springsteen

where has this guy been all my life?

I hate Born in the USA, so I've always tried to avoid any of his music, but a friend of mine was listening to Nebraska as we were driving in his car, and it's pretty f'ing good. think I'll go out and pick up the rest of his albums on Monday 🙂

Let me get this straight. You hear one song you like and after x number of years of distaste for The Boss you are gonna go out and pick up all of his albums? I think he has like 10 or more albums. Are you a pirate?

I heard and liked the entire Nebraska album.

I'm definitely buying that one, and I'll probably listen to the rest in the store and buy whatever sounds good.

(no, I'm not a pirate)

Wow! Welcome to 20 years ago. Hey, there's a group called The Beatles, too. You might want to go with Yellow Submarine.

Never liked Springsteen much. (and I grew up during his early career)

To me, his singing sounds like he has a pool cue stuck up has ass and he's constipated.

You should check out Badlands, too. It's a tribute to his Nebraska album and there are some really good remakes on there. Esp. Deanna Carter's version of State Trooper

I really didn't much care for him until I was given a free ticket to one of his shows back in the late 70's at the old Winterland in Frisco. He and the E Street Band put on an awesome show and I've been a fan since.

In the day we sweat it out in the streets of a runaway American dream
At night we ride through mansions of glory in suicide machines
Sprung from cages out on highway 9,
Chrome wheeled, fuel injected
and steppin' out over the line
Baby this town rips the bones from your back
It's a death trap, it's a suicide rap
We gotta get out while we're young
`Cause tramps like us, baby we were born to rruuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuunnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn

Springstein flat out rocks (or at least used to!) While you're at it get John Cougar Mellancamp's "Scarecrow" album.

I'm not saying I discovered this great new band, just that a friend turned me onto an old rocker that I'd dismissed 🙂
