Ok OK, not the dault of Windows XP, but my HDD simply went off to lunch and never returned.
So it was time to reinstall windows XP, I know the drill. buy new HDD, use original install disk to reinstall Win XP, do the de motherboard drivers, add a securiy system, do the windows updates, and you are usually in good shape for a long time until something else goes out to lunch.
But this time Windows XP seems to have come down witrh a bad case of multiple browser personalities delusions. Of course when windows XP initially loaded, I got an antique version of IE and no firefox. Which I soon updated to IE ver 8. As for Firefox. I soon downloaded Version 6.02, made it my default browser as usual, and that is when my new grief began.
1. Staying in firefox, works FAIRLY WELL, but I can't register as Lemon Law in these forums.
2. If Firefox is the default browser, IE suddenly acts like its firefox. If IE is the default browser like it is now, it knows it IE, I can register the name Lemon Law in this forum in IE but still not in firefox.
3. Meanwhile the bulk of the windows update are done.
Anyone with an idea of how to fix it??????????????????????
