Browser image problems...

I am having problems getting images to display properly in any internet browser (IE and Firefox). All the images are being displayed like they are in 16 color so they all look horrible. The images are find on the computer, display is set to 32-bit and when I pull up an image from my HDD they look fine but anything that is displayed by the browser looks horrible. Any suggestions?
