Browser glitch a video card failure?

Does this look like a video card problem? I actually don't even have a card in this system, just on-board graphics. Started getting this strange pixelation today in random places of the chrome browser. Not seeing it on the desktop, file explorer, movies or games yet. The glitch is locked to the page I'm browsing, not the screen. Any ideas?

That pixelation probably improves "Top 10 Mythical Creatures Caught on Camera" 😉.

It may not be a video card problem though. I don't have any specific tips, but

1. If turning off hardware acceleration fixes the problem, that points to GPU issue. Give that a shot.
2. You may want to try a different video cable, sometimes they go bad.

Thanks guys, I'll give it a shot!

Edit: Disabling hardware acceleration in the chrome settings seems to have fixed it! Thank you!
Now I can return to my top 10 mythical creatures ;P

I've had windows 10 for about a month and it just started randomly a couple days ago in the browser.

Just went to check the calendar and saw this 🙁 Mercury retrograde...

Sounds like I need to update the drivers then?

I have been having problems with graphical glitches in chrome too. I have a SB i5 and a HD7770. Strangely it only happens in these forums. Pages just randomly go blank. Sometimes the text comes back, and sometimes I have to completely close the browser. Only happens in Chrome though.

Skylake CPU iGPU, by any chance? I get glitches too, in Win7 64-bit.

I've recently started getting glitches in win10 64 bit on my sp4 (random blocks in text over the individual characters, not multicolor but the same color as the text), so skylake iGPU seems reasonably likely. I thought it might have been a botched update.

That looks like a video memory corruption issue, which might be temporarily solvable by baking the video card to reflow the solder on the video memory chips. But yours is not a video card, so I guess you need to bake your entire computer and CPU, sorry.

Can you RMA it ? Go buy a cheap VC from frys,, then RMA what you got. and you will have a VC while yours is in RMA. good luck,,
