If sites like that one weren't filled with 90% ads, where you have to click on a 2nd page and see even more ads, browsers would run a lot better. This is why I only visit forums. :colbert:

I don't understand his obsession with memory usage. Modern Webkit scales very well up and down on memory usage, generally settling at ~10% of total system memory. His machine likely had 8GB of RAM hence the ~800MB of usage from Chrome and Opera. Did he even try testing on a machine with less RAM?

Chrome browser cheats in a way you could really get off on calling it a fake browser.

Sure you can browse the internet like you can in mozilla and IE but before it sends the data to your browser it uses a render farm located on a server to shrink the pages down so it loads faster on your pc.

There are options in Chrome to disable that function so that Chrome acts more like a real browser by disabling the feature but many opt not to do that.

It is as simple as disabling the addon in the addons menu and restarting the browser, just like most other addons.

It seems to work quite well when I have used it.

Classic Theme restorer sounds really interesting, if i don't like it how easy is it to remove?

Just use Pale Moon and be done with it. Why would you want to use a series of addons just to make Firefox look like Pale Moon? I switched and won't go back.

Boss is pushing Chrome as our default browser, and pushing it HEAVILY. I have already run across several pages that don't like Chrome, and even today had a very basic desktop user ask me how to print within Chrome. I assumed it had the ability to add a print icon onto the toolbar menu, but nooooooo, this is Chrome !! We won't allow that.

I opened Firefox and showed her how I can add the print icon, move it here, there .. anywhere ! So I googled how to do this in Chrome - and the only workaround is to hit Ctrl-P. I knew that shortcut, but that's my job. The average Joe Blow has no freakin' idea what Ctrl-P does !

Note that I no longer use Firefox after v25. I've moved on to Pale Moon, but since we purchased 800 Chromebooks to go with the 400 from the year before, Chrome it is whether I like it or not.

I switched over to Chrome the day I bought an Android phone. The seamless syncing of bookmarks, tabs and searches between my phone and desktop is just too nice to get rid of. I have actually come to like the browser as well. Firefox certainly gives more options but Chrome works quite well out of the box.
