Gotta think professional football (maybe tackle football in general) not good for mental health (physical health either).

Sad to say but I don't think I would let my kid play football and apparently MANY current parents agree.

"According to data from the Aspen Institute and the National Federation of State High School Associations (NFHS), from 2008-9 to 2018-19 the total number of youths aged 6 to 18 playing tackle football fell by more than 620,000, from about 2.5 million to less than 1.9 million.Jan 28, 2020"

As a lifelong Steelers fan...watching the Browns is usually a great source of amusement for me.

I don't see that changing either.... the Browns are a clown-show. :p

Much as I dislike them, the Steelers football people know what they're doing and will almost certainly get somebody decent in at QB. Heck even if they play Rudolph next season its not the end of the world.

Maybe not the end of the world...but the end of their playoff hopes.

He's not likely to win any Super Bowls but Rudolph is a serviceable starting NFL QB.... cross your fingers maybe they'll go after Watson.

I'm not worried. I like watching the NFL, but I wouldn't give two shits if it, and football, completely disappeared tomorrow. It's a rather preposterous game that, in not-too-distant future, following generations will wonder why we ever engaged in this clear nonsense.

i know a few guys who played football in high school and college

one has a bunch of back problems (surgery made it somewhat better), and the other two have serious knee trouble

even some of the guys i played hot stove baseball with got hurt doing that, mostly the catchers
