Since buy.com has tied up with google checkout, I must have brought at least 5 different items from them.

Not only me, a lot of my friends and colleagues have been discussing about what they purchased from buy.com using google check out.

Has anyone on AT made any recent purchases?

At the current rate, buy.com is well on its way to make me bankrupt.

Purchases so far.
1) 2 GB Sandisk memory pro duo.
2) 4 GB Sandisk memory pro duo.
3) Western Digital 120 GB Hard disk.
4) Creative webcam.

I think this combination is a big hit.. coz buy.com does not charge tax, offers free shipping on most items and the google checkout discount instant and not a rebate of some sort.

I've ordered about 5 times from buy.com using google $20/50 too. They have free shipping on a lot of stuff, and some of the items had rebates making them incredible bargains.

How does this thing work? I mean.. does google pay buy.com everytime someone makes a purchase?

How does google benefit from this?

not sure how it works, but it's a promo to get people familiar with google checkout so they can put a hurting on paypal.

the cash off won't last forever, but for right now i'm loving it. i've used it quite a bit and on many other sites, too. (most are $10/30 though)

I purchased a sleeping bag from sports authority which was priced at $40. I had a $25 off coupon and used google checkout, which brought the cost to $20.

I am truly amazed!!!

I know that this wont last forever... but I am enjoying it well while it lasts...

Google checkout rocks. :)

actually paypal and GCO are different in purpose and market as Gco is a way to checkout using a centralized system. By offering the coupon, it makes people use it and it shows how easy and convenient GCO is, to never enter an address, CC info, and at the same time integrate with your email to have an all in one package of easy online shopping convenience.

The other huge payoff, is that by data mining all of the online transactions and what people buy from where and combining that with the profile they have of you via your email address, creates a remarkably accurate and diverse profiles for targeted advertising

i don't see them as that different if they can be used interchangeably. i'd bet that soon google sets it up so you can transfer funds to another party through their checkout too.

I've used it a few times. It has shown me that Buy.com's selection sucks compared to Amazon.com.

1GB Kingston card (don't want to deal w/ rebates)
Canon SD630
Canon MP510 printer
ink for said printer.

tried to order COD3 for Wii.. but either it's not eligible itself, or because it's on order.

I do wish I could delete my card from google... i switched google accounts and even if i delete the card from the old account, i can't add it to the new one "for security reasons." I suppose it's a good thing.....

I got Trauma Center, so Wii games are eligible... I tried ordering Super Swing Golf, but it is not eligible, apparantly because it's a pre-order.

I used it yesterday to buy an intercom system for my folks for Christmas, saved me $30 over the price at Smarthome for the same model.

Google checkout is so easy, I started looking for other stuff there for people on my list. I may pick up one or two more things from them.

Got NFS: carbon, Tiger Woods 2K7 and Ridger Racer 7 for $40 each for my PS3...

I actually bought 2 of them from Best Buy for $60 each, order them them buy.com and returned the new unopened ones from buy.com to best buy...no problems at all.

Total savings of $60...
