Brothers in Arms for PC - Sound problem

I only have onboard sound and when I start the game their is a crackling sound at all times. It happens with both my headphones and speakers. There isn't really anything in the audio options of the game that you can change except from the master volume which does nothing to help me. Anyone had this problem and know how to fix it...?

Downloaded the latest audio drivers from Gigabyte's site, re-installed them and now the crackling sound is gone.
