Good price but keep in mind that Brother switched to chipped ink on this one. You can still get somewhat cheap chipped ink but nothing like the 425, 430, 435 series generic ink @ under $1 per cartridge. The good ole DMCA at work!

My only hope is I can keep it going with infrequent use. My last brother AIO is sitting by the back door on the way to the trash. It gets used so infrequently due to having an old laserjet 4+ that handles 99% of printing needs.

My wife prints the church bulletins on a J435 with a bulk ink sytsem. It seems that the more you use them the longer they last. I have one in the closet when this one craps.

You have a J435 in the closet? Be careful, I had a Brother printer under the bed for about 3 years (picked it up for $3 on Black Friday about 4 years ago) and when I went to use it, the ink had dried in the lines (even plugged) and I could not get it to work. I spent days on that thing with denatured alcohol and massaging the lines to loosen the dried ink up. No luck.

With that said, Brother replaced it, even out of warranty by over 2 years. Couldn't believe that they would do that and on top of that, they gave me a wireless version to boot.

I really wish that they had stayed with chipless ink though.

that's pretty good service from brother - far better than what canon would do (had a very bad experience with canon support for printers - for camera it has been great). The only reason I avoid brother printer so far is that I use the scanner as much as the printer (I'm a light user) and their scanner does not do a good job with tones (scan photos).

I have a separate Epson scanner that I use when I need the 'good stuff'.
