Can you provide us some links to substantiate that blanket statement? I'm not even sure what you're saying. What does "very poor repair history" mean?

I don't think you'll find many people here who have much negative to say about brother laser printers. Many of us have gotten in on the brother laser deals over the past couple years. I own two, and both are fantastic. Excellent quality and value.

In my retail experience with brother I'd say their laser machines are alright, but their Ink machines are the worst quality printers I've ever seen. I've watched several different generations of brother ink products pass through my store and I refuse to sell them on account of their pixelated, overly reddish prints. My main complaint on their laser products is that the duty cycles are lower than similar products from HP or even lexmark. In the past I've had complaints about the ADFs breaking down under light use. I don't have many specific comments about this particular machine, but the book on Brother is that while their toner is usually pretty well priced, when it comes time to replace a drum, you might as well by a new printer.

All in all, it's a good price for a feature packed machine but if you need a workhorse for an office environment you might want to spend a more on an HP.
