Ok,
I think this is a pretty hot deal:
Click here for the Brother MFC-9700 Multipurpose Laser machine that does 15 PPM in printing mode and in copy mode !! This things does it all and the reviews are *amazing*. Check 'em out for yourself... I read over 100 reviews before getting this thing... It's a great unit. There is also a new MFC-9800 model that is almost identical to this thing, but is $100.00 more. The specs are the same...
Here is the breakdown:
Price is $549.99 with 1 business day shipping...
-$50.00 from Staples for their Multipurpose Machine Instant Discount [EXPIRES: 10/19/02 !!!]
-$20.00 from your favorite coupon place (yes this is stackable on top of the $50.00)
-$50.00 Mail in Rebate from Staples
Final Price = $429.00
Now, for the other possible $50.00: There is also a $50.00 rebate from the manufacturer... The problem is that Staples is requiring that the original UPC bar code be submitted with their rebate on this particular item. I spoke to 2 reps at Staples customer service, and I called the Rebate Center line as well. They both confirmed the same thing. They also acknowledged that it is strange how they are requiring the bar code for this rebate...
One rep told me that they did this on purpose, so that people will not take advantage of both rebates... Kind of strange, but true I guess. Does anyone know how to get that extra Brother rebate ?! Brother is course requiring the UPC as well...
Well anyways, this a great machine in a great form-factor. It has a high-yield toner (6,000) sheets, and it has some of the lowest costs per page (check for yourself). It is classified as a small biz machine too... Not bad for home use...
Take care,
