Brother MFC-9600 vs Xerox XE90fx/Which is better?

I need to buy a flat bed laser copier, scanner, fax, printer. I have narrowed it down to the MFC-9600 and XE90fx. I am leaning toward the MFC-9600 because it looks like it is cheaper per page to run even though it cost's roughly $50 more up front. I wanted other peoples experience/ opinion on these printers however. Anybody know anything or just want to rant and rave about either Xerox or Brother printers?

Thanks

Interesting it looks like someone else was having this exact same dilemma (unless this was you who posted this message)

This guy doesn't seem to like the Xerox XE90FX customer service he received (or lack thereof):

MUST READ REVIEWS (3 out of 5 star rating):

My recommendation:
$359.99 HP LaserJet 3100xi
-$30 off $150 (or $50 off $500 if you can bump up the total that high)
-3% eBates
-FREE SHIPPING ON CLEARANCE ITEMS
----------------------
$320.09

Regarding the Brother and Xerox machines, I would do a lot of thorough research but whichever you decide on make sure to check out prices at Staples, Onvia and Buy don't forget the coupons out there (esp Staples and Buy) plus the almighty PRICE MATCH! It would work out best in your favor if Staples carries the Brother MFC-9600 then price match against Onvia or Buy then use a $40 off $200 plus get free shipping since your total is over $50.

Hope this helps. In the future you may want to wait more than just 2 hours before bumping up the thread, like maybe 1-2 days.

Well it looks like Staples doesn't carry either model when I searched by the model number. That's a bummer.

However Onvia does carry the Brother MFC-9600 for $627.99
http://www.onvia.com/usa/products/index.cfm?CategoryID=28

Buy.com has this listed for $624.95, about $3 less!

$624.95 Brother MFC-9600 http://www.us.buy.com/retail/product.asp?sku=10236254&loc=101
-$50 off $500
-3% eBates
+tax
+$28.35 ground shipping
-----------------------
$586.05 or there abouts

[ego stroking] Am I good at this or what?

Thanks RossMAN,
I had got it down to $609. That other post you found wasn't me, but the other links made for some interesting reading. I actually need it for my families pet stores. We had a HP3100xi that had the board in it fry itself. Also, a flatbed would work better for my mother who has the bad habit of accidently and unknowning trying to copy stuff that is to small or has other problems going thru the scanner slot of the 3100xi.

Unless I find or somebody posts some information that changes my mind, it looks like I'll be picking up a Brother in a couple of days.
