Repeat after me, pot is mentally addictive not physically. A"piker" is anyone who does things in a small way. Someone who makes a big deal out of small potatoes.

Repeat after me: Pot IS physically addictive. That's been debunked for years now.

It is? Wow! Could you please tell me the withdrawal symptoms so the next time I am out I can do this right? I've been smoking it for over forty years and I guess I've been missing out on the withdrawal part when I run out of weed.

Ya learn something new every day!

Great Dad he is... he stops drinking and smoking pot for 30 days and now he's binge drinking to make up for it? Seems to me getting high is more important than his daughters.

Nov. 27, 2000 -- Heavy marijuana users who stop cold turkey experience a host of withdrawal symptoms, including irritability, anxiety, and depression, but most symptoms begin to lessen after 10 days or so, a study from Harvard Medical School suggests.

"A few years ago, it was widely believed that marijuana does not cause any kind of physical dependence, but now that has pretty much been debunked," Aron Lichtman, PhD, of Virginia Commonwealth University, tells WebMD. "Studies like this one and the ones we have done show that physical dependence does exist."

http://www.ibtimes.com/marijuana-addictive-causes-withdrawal-study-796751

The long-held belief that using marijuana isn’t physically addictive has proved false, according to research that found quitting marijuana can cause withdrawal symptoms.

“It’s very similar to what people experience with tobacco,” Alan J. Budney, the co-author of the study, told ABC. “It makes you irritable. It makes you restless. It makes it hard to sleep.”

And there are many other articles/studies that show the physical addiction.

Oh, and just because YOU don't "think" you experience any withdrawal or are addicted, means nothing. Plenty of people drink on a regular basis and aren't addicted, either. Lots of people use cocaine on occasion and will never be addicted to it.
"Addictive" doesn't mean that everyone who uses it is addicted.

It means that is CAN be addictive, and marijuana is damn sure in that category.

I'd be curious to see where it was determined to be physically addictive, not arguing just curious. I haven't smoked in years but when I did I used it fairly heavily, but never experienced any withdrawal symptoms when I quit. The boredom of having to find something else to do, sure, but no physical withdrawal that I noticed.

Benzos are another story. Thought I was going to die!

"a host of withdrawal symptoms, including irritability, anxiety, and depression"

So they are irritated that they ran out, anxious to find out if their supplier has more and depressed that they have leave the house to go find more? If that's what they are calling "withdrawal symptoms" then they are full of shit. If that is the extent of it then just about everybody I know must be going through withdrawal...lol!

Of course some people can use drugs and not become addicted. That is because they moderate their use to avoid addiction. Now explain how I can smoke truckloads of weed for months on end, run out and not be bothered in the least if none is immediately available.

Get back to me when they discover some real withdrawal symptoms.

All of the withdrawal symptoms listed are comparable to my going without coffee. Caffeine is a gateway drug. Better round up the posse and make possession of more than 3 pounds illegal. Your reasoning is specious, inflammatory and, without merit. :)

Does the study indicate that pot itself is physically addictive or does it indicate that people with addictive personalities have reactions to quitting pot that mimic the withdrawal symptoms of other substances?
