He doesn't spend as much time online as I do so he wasn't aware of all the craigslist scams when he was trying to sell some stuff on there. Some guy in tx wants to buy them and it's pretty much the same routine. Guy sends a MO, brother keeps his share plus 10% for his trouble and his scretary will be picking up the item and remaining money. MO will turn out fake and they come after him.

He thought it was fishy so he asked me about it. I go into a long lecture about all the common scams on the net with him. The next day he receives the mo in the amount of $2500. Guess he actually went as far as giving out his address and agreeing to the deal.

One question. Guy says his scretary will be picking up the stuff. So does that mean he has someone in CA working for him or is he pretending to be from texas and picking it up himself?

Your best recourse now is to get the MO examined for authenticity. When it turns out to be fake, contact the FBI with all the information you know about this guy. Hopefully you can get him thrown in jail so he won't scam anyone else. You might want to check that the address/phone #s you have for him work before you let the cat out of the bag...

Turn in the evidence if it's fake. Take it to your local postmaster, they don't screw around with mail fraud.

$2500 postal money order? If thats fake, then this guy will be in some serious shit. Take it to a post office and have them inspect it.

Why do you describe the same as "MO turns out to be fake and they come after him." Why would they come after him?

If the guy actually does show up to pick stuff up, have police waiting for him at the time you meet.

His secretary is hired for free - and you can do the same!

all you have to do is schedule a pickup!
