brother 1440 laser printer question, HELP!

ok it seems this unit is always going to sleep, is there a way to stop this from happening, it seems that you have to print then press the button on the unit to get it to go otherwise the job just keeps pending under win xp and never get sent to this thing. HELP!

I know a ton of you use this unit and it is loved by everyone but this is a pain that cannot happen what is the fix?
 
i had a different problem but...

dont use the cd drivers, get drivers from the brother website and reinstall the printer with those to see if it works proper
 
You can turn it off in the printer properties. It's somewhere under sleep time or powersave mode. I don't know the exact steps off hand but I know I did see it in there somewhere. Hope this helps.
