Thank god this isn't April 1st, otherwise I wouldn't have believed it.

Apparently they gave up

2009 1st round pick and 3rd round pick
2010 1st round pick
Kyle Orton

Bears receive: Broncos 5th round pick in 2009

Edit: Bears got hosed, but Orton wasn't the answer long term. Plus their 1st round picks have sucked for as long as Angelo has been here.

Broncos say they want 2 first round picks and a starting QB.

This is offer comes from a team that is bargaining from a point of weakness in that they are forced to make a trade now. I'm sure offers are pouring in.

They got it from Chicago. Orton and two first round pics.

"The Bears acquired quarterback Jay Cutler today for No. 1 draft picks in 2009 and 2010, a No. 3 pick this year and Kyle Orton, the Sun-Times has learned.

The Bears receive the Broncos' fifth-round draft pick this year."

Woooooo hoooo

I don't know what I'm more excited about, Cutler or no more Neck Beard.

And we still got the 2nd rounder so we can pick up a reciever. Hot fucking damn :)

wow, that's a lot for him.

if the bears get their running game going (which will be easier with cutler), monsters of the midway may be back.

Matt Forte was awesome last year, even with a complete lack of a deep passing game, causing defenders to crowd the line.

Hester's speed will finally be put to use.

Bears don't know how to use early pics anyway, 09 and 10 will be the best first round drafts ever.

Well, the Vikings didn't step up. I guess we get the energizing duo of Tarvaris Jackson and Sage Rosenfels

i'm so excited. The bears haven't had a franchise QB in FOREVER. And Angelo usually trades down out of the first round picks anyway, so I'm cool with loosing them for a young, proven QB

Ugh, I hate the Bears. Who is his #1 WR now? Hester?

Forte

Haha, hell yeah :) The Bears always suck with their first round picks.

I'm drooling over hearing these words for once:

"Hester wide open along the sideline after blowing past everyone....Cutler throws it deep, hits him in stride, Touchdown Bears"

mannn oh mann. So pumped.

Orton on the Broncos will have more TD passes than Culter this season.

Brandon Marshall will have a better year than Hester.

Bears will win more games.

haha, good luck with Orton. Although this may acutally be good for him, take him down a peg or 6. Fuck I hate Orton.

I would hope he has a better year than Hester, Hester sucks but is faster than holy hell and will now have a QB capable of throwing at distances > 20 yards.

You have something against:

"Hester, has a step on his man.... Orton's thinking about throwing it.... he does.... Hester has to come back to the ball.... pass is broken up... oh, if the pass has been thrown a little bit quicker there was nothing but space till the endzone"

So pissed.. been a Broncos fan all my life.

Now they go from the strongest arm in the league to a guy who is barely good enough to be a place holder for FG's

Josh McN00b is free to go back to the Gaytriots now.

Won't miss that one bit, haha. I just sent those 2 quotes to my friend (an Orton defender) asking which he would prefer :)

Seems like a win-win situation at this point considering everything involved. Let's face it, the Bears weren't going to draft anything better than Cutler in the next 2 years anyway. How many top draft picks actually pan out? At least with Cutler you know what you are getting.....a top 12 QB that you have to try and keep happy so he doesn't pout. The only thing I don't get is the $$ situation. I guess for the Bears it makes sense too as you have to dump a ton of money into a top draft pick and you don't know what will become of him. AT least put money towards a proven player
On the other side, the Broncos got put in a bad situation b/c of Cutler's whining, but got the best deal they could. He's in the NFC, and they got some good picks for him. I'm sure they'd rather have a young franchise QB but after his whole crybaby routine, maybe they are glad to try and start over with a draft pick that the new coach can work with.

Fuck yeah, Hester can't run a real route, but he can beat guys deep all day. Forte and Olson will tear up the middle.
