I've had my console for like 40 days now, and am having "hardware failure". With a rented game stuck in the cd tray of course.

Bring it back to my retailer with a reference number for replacement. What type of warranty is that?

Well returning it at Walmart was easier then expected. Got my new one and plugged it on in. Hopefully this one lasts, since it'll be making a trip overseas with me.

Yeah, trying that now.

Sucks dude. I got the "Red light of death" for the first time the other day and panic set in. Then I realized it was because it got left on overnight after watching a movie so after the d@mn thing cooled off it was fine.

At least you're going to be able to get it fixed or swapped it sounds.

Still cant get the cd tray open, and now I gotta find out from the wife where she stashed the reciept. I conveniently bought it from a Walmart like 30 minutes away too.

So what exactly happened when you tried the paper clip trick, did it even act like it wanted to give? Did you hear a click sound? Sometimes if you hold and pull the bezel of the tray while you do the paper clip trick it will give.

Return it to Walmart, or MS will take care of you. Their hardware support is pretty good IMHO.

Well, finally got the disc out of the tray, and found the receipt. Now I just have to drive it 30 minutes to Walmart, instead of to the 3 that are like 5 minutes away.

Welcome to the (not so exclusive) club. I just got mine back from MS earlier this week.

When the UPS guy dropped it off, he said "I recognize that package." Obviously, MS has been keeping him busy.

My X360 gave me the "can't read/detect disc" prompt a few times while I was playing Oblivion. I'm gonna get the Nyko Xbox 360 Intercooler ($20) to cool this thing down.
