Hi, a couple of months ago I had a problem with my BFG 8800 GTX card. Initially what happened was that my screen was in power saving mode, and I moved the mouse and the screen came back up all garbled and the machine froze. Upon rebooting the machine, the video card showed artefacts while displaying the motherboard logo screen. Upon entering Windows 7 (64 bit), the video card device was Disabled in Device Manager, and Windows was using some kind of compatibility driver.

I found out about the Nvidia driver problems that led to some people having toasted cards, so I assumed that was the problem and RMA'd the card. Upon receiving a new card back, I installed it and it was working fine. After about a week, I decided to play a game for the first time since I got the new card. Within about 15 seconds, the screen froze, and upon rebooting the computer I found that the new card was damaged in the exact same way as the old one!

The system was working great for almost 3 years without and issues and now destroyed 2 video cards in the same way. Obviously I am afraid to buy a new card since it might get wrecked. I'm thinking the problem is with the power supply. Any thoughts?
