Broken Video Card/Drivers?, What could be the cause of it?

I'm having issues with a Sis740 chip (don't say "gee, its a SIS that is the problem".)

It gives me 2d and 3d display artifacts.

I'm using the latest drivers off the website, I tried disabling direct X, disabling agp fast writes.

Still, the problem persists.

Any ideas?

Sounds like a really dumb suggestion, but make sure your monitor cable is straight. Sometimes I get pixelation when my cord is bent improperly.

No, it is fine when it posts.

It isn't a cabling problem.

Runs fine under Freebsd (X server)

but SIS or the drivers made for it suck.
