Broken Saints

Lifer
Buddy over at SVA recommended this "movie" to me and let me borrow the 4 disc-set.

Just finishing up Disc 1 and to say the least it's interesting. The dialogue, music, and voice-acting I find terrific, while the animation is something you have to get used to. From the looks of it I have awhile to go until I'm near the end.

Anybody else ever watch the DVD version or check it out on the website? Opinions appreciated, no spoilers please.

A brief plot overview is 4 people from different walks of life (a white girl that washed ashore on a small Fijian island, a software engineer working for a large tech company, a Muslim man originally involved in the Jihad against the US/UK, and a Japanese monk) all have a vision of something evil coming. After this vision, they each fall into a coma and awake after varying lengths to a heightened sense of awareness in the world.

From there, the characters deal with their visions and new found awareness and try to understand what role they're playing in this event that's going to unfold.

Another comment on the movie is that it's extremely long. Like 9 hours + long.

Also, the entire thing can be seen on the website (the DVD adds some extra stuff to the experience, but it is by no means the only way to view it). It's completely free to view there.

It's animated? No thanks. I'm looking forward to other movie recommendations though.

Yes and no.

So far it's not typical animation. It's more like reading a comic book almost. I' definitely suggest looking into it more before completely writing it off because its not live-action.

It just random heaven and gibberish words...

They gave nothing about the story and actual plot...so it didnt interest me.

I'm on the 2nd Disc and from what I hear there's at least another 400 minutes left to it, if not more. So it's something you really have to commit to. Luckily I'm on Spring Break right now and can watch it when I don't have work.

I watched the first disk but didn't like it. It was way too slow paced, and felt more like a bunch of internet shorts slapped together on a disk.
