Before I decided to RMA this I wanted to get some more info on it to make sure I'm not doing something wrong.
I got a galaxy 460 1gb GC that has some problem with the secondary DVI port. I have both a zr24w and a vx2025wm.
-If I plug a single monitor into the primary port, everything works fine.
-If I plug a single monitor into the secondary DVI port, I can't get resolutions in Win7 above 1280x1024 (Win7-64 is my only OS on this thing atm). Can't even force it using custom resolutions in nV panel. I haven't tried powerstrip or other software though.
-If I plug in two monitors, the only monitor that Win7 will detect is the one in the primary port. If I then disconnect the primary and reboot, the secondary will magically start working although with the above resolution limit
-If I connect the primary as DVI and the secondary as VGA then everything works great. Dual monitors at native resolutions, though I have to force the secondary's native res by using nV custom resolutions.
Running my second monitor in VGA is a temp fix at best. I have HDMI out on my vid card but no HDMI inputs on either display nor do I have an adapter otherwise that would be a good test, (zr24w has displayport but no hdmi).
I think that the second DVI port is having trouble reading EDID info, could that be it? Or is this a windows 7 / drivers thing? I tried ubuntu 10.04 live on a usb drive but I think the 460 is too new for it, it was having trouble with native res even on the primary port.
