I have a 9700 Pro, with a busted off SMD Capacitor. here is an image link:

Busted

I don't remember how I broke this, but it is causing overlay problems with video. Its showing black dots at certain points of the screen, only while playing video, not for desktop use. Otherwise the card works GREAT!

I want to get a new capacitor for that from Mouser, but I do not know the specs of the part. Does anyone know what the specs are for a replacement? I tried to go through ATI, but they want me to send the card in to get fixed = $$$.

Thanks,

bump!

There is no silkscreen on the actual capacitor. I do not have a multimeter with capacitance to test it out. perhaps a trip into radio shack would determine what the specs on it are?

I have a 9500 that probably is the same seeing as how I have it hard modded to a 9700. I will check it tonite when I get home. Sould be an easy fix, and Mouser is your right choice for a replacement.

I put a post up there about a week ago, and nobody was able to help, so that is why i came over here. It seems either nobody knows, or i'm asking it in a way that no one can understand? I thought it was pretty simple, just needing to find out what the capacitor was so I could get a replacement and solder it back on.
