broke clip that holds heatsink on

vendor won't replace board because i used a heavy heatsink, processor is fried now

is it possible to fix this little clip? or replace the socket on the board? (board is an asus k7v)

If you broke the centre clip, it is possible to continue using the board with a heatsink that holds all three clips, such as the Dragon Orb 3.

hey that dragon orb isn't rated too good...anyone know of one that uses all the clips AND has decent noise/performance/price ratio?

If money isn't an issue and your mobo has the standard 4 holes around the socket, you can't go wrong with the Swiftech MC462. It's loud but you can get it with without fan and slap on a quieter one.
