Broke an IDE pin on the back on my HD

Been there - done that. Turns out the missing pin had no real function - the drive worked OK. That is your next step - try it and see. If it doesn't work - replace the drive - they are cheaper than repairs.

I am lucky. It was PIN #39

Lesson learned - back up your data on an external drive or CDR or DVD. 🙂
 
This just happened to me, I was trying to fix a bent pin and I broke it. Pin #39 as well. Strange :Q
