Broke a temp diode....any way to replace it?

Within 2 days of having my new X-Navigator case, I broke one of the temp diodes for the reading built-in to the front of the case. Is it possible to simply snip that diode off, buy another one, and wire it on? If it is that simple, where could I buy a replacement diode, and how much are they typically?

Thanks.

Are you talking about thermistors? It should be as simple as snipping off the broken thermistor (looks like a "diode" with a heat-resistant plastic covering around it, with two wires coming out of it) and soldering on a replacement thermistor of the same type.

Are you talking about this?

Er, there is definitely one thing that you need to consider, like the ohm rating on the thermistor. The radioshack one is 10K. I know nothing about thermistors, but your thermistor might be at a different ohm rating. Best to ask the radioshack people about it. And if it doesn't work, eh, it's only three bucks. There are places online where you can get them in bulk for like 20 for $2.
