"OP was right" posts:

Some variation of "Anyone who disagrees with me is gay" or "Anyone who disagrees with me a pussy" Very compelling stuff, tough guys. You're embarrassing yourselves.

Just make sure to not say anything to the police that could incriminate you.

If he tries anything, get your girlfriend to file sexual assault charges and see how fast he drops his case.

That's exactly what I was gonna do. I'm gonna text him and tell him that if he calls the cops (if he hasn't already) I'll have my girl report him for sexual assault.

If you do that, you are a dumb sonofabitch.

Maybe getting the "timeout" some would wish for this borderline sexual predator causes him to get angry and return.

Jesus, hyperbole much? He tried to kiss her, he is NOT a "borderline sexual predator". The original post has been edited to make the situation seem far, far worse like he attempted to rape her. Since the OP hasn't informed us which version is the true one, I'm going with the original accounting that was posted before he started getting flamed for overreacting.

Breaking his nose and assaulting him was one way to get this guy to not come after the girl again, true. Calling the cops and reporting the guy for sexual assault, thereby ruining his life one way or the other and causing his unimaginable amounts of grief, would be another. Personally I'd have gone for the second, as a broken nose is going to heal a lot faster than this guy's reputation/wallet would have if the OP had been smart and taken the legal route.

How do you know that she wasn't in danger?

Well, let's see, she was in a different room, she called him from his phone WHILE in a different room, the guy was in the kitchen, and was just standing there "embarassed". Yeah, sounds like a real powderkeg ready to explode, man.

No the best part is reading your posts where you come off as some sanctimonious little snot.

Awesome, more childish name calling. Not that I'm above such things, but generally when I call people idiots I back it up with some form of example or fact. Thank you for furthering my example of how the "pro hitting the guy" are simply a bunch of wannabe thugs with nothing constructive to say. Idiot.

You think he recognized that at first? If I were to get a call from my SO telling me what Duddy's GF told him I doubt I'd walk in calmly, assess the situation and then react. I'd definately react first as it would be an extremely stressful situation where I'd be thinking the whole time on my way there that this punk was sexually assualting her.

The difference is he's right on the mark about you. You said you hoped Duddy was prosecuted. What's it too you? How were you affected by his actions?

I can almost guarantee you that the police will not care.

I know for fact that they'd be much more concerned about the other guy's attempted sexual assault on his GF than the bloody nose. Had the cops been called, I'm sure they would have that other guy know that in no uncertain terms.

Threads like this are great BTW. You can literally watch the "cream" rise to the top as the idiots and assholes expose themselves.

THANKS GOD!!!!!

Hmm... looks like he's stupid but not that stupid. You really never had anything to worry about. Anything the "@sshole" would have said to the cops about his broken nose would have only served to incriminate himself.

A further note for the idiots and assholes in the thread: cops don't live in your pussy sheltered world. Yes, they take fights seriously. Duh! But they take rapes, even attempted rapes, FAR more seriously. So as far as they would be concerned, the OP handled the issue for them. Not in the way they would like or prefer, of course, but sufficiently so long as all parties involved agree to drop the issue permanently. If the wanna-be rapist had insisted on pressing assault charges, then they would have insisted on busting him for the attempted rape. Cops genuinely enjoy busting people, that's their job, so in their mind, that's 2-for-1. Except that the OP would be somewhat of a waste of time and paperwork for them to bust as he might get off in court due to his justifiable reason to believe he was protecting his GF and other such passion-related issues.

'Atta boy cowboy. Sounds like your girlfriend has your back, so...
When she called you on the cellphone she was hysterical/sobbing after forcing him off and hiding.
When you arrived she was still hysterical/sobbing; the guy was yelling at her through the door and you handled your business.

A decent lawyer should be able to handle this easily if it goes that far, crime of passion, stopping a predator, in defense of a third person
I don't see the aggravated assualt-no weapon, noses get broken easily, guy had it coming. Its simple battery
Jury isn't going to convict you of defending your girlfriend

Worst case senario: You'll go to to jail as a big man for assualt/battery. The would be molestor will hate every second of life inside

Wannabe thug my ass, you're whining like a baby, here.

What's pathetic is when people just let some pig like this guy get away with acting like... a pig.

Where exactly do you get off being all high and mighty? Why does the thought of some douche getting popped in the face offend you? ... Are... You a player?

True... if you're worried he's going to press charges, she should press charges for his attack upon her. At minimum, he's facing sexual assault against her.

I know that I would have done what the OP had done and probably worse. Nor am I ashamed in any way to admit, nor would I be concerned about prosecution given the same scenario (seriously, what jury would convict?). Quite the opposite, I would be ashamed if I had NOT been able to rise up and defend a loved one in danger.

I think there are too few details to this particular instance to make a good judgement on what action is/was appropriate. I read the post as some dumbass, clumsy friend trying to kiss a girl that he had a crush on and then was embarrassed when she didn't reciprocate. If that's the case, then I don't think the violence was justified. Some of you are reading it as a guy making a violent attempted sexual assualt that maybe could've escalated, in which case I would find the punch acceptable.

I am shocked that you people would ignore the fact thtat the other guy is equally guilty of assault and battery against his GF. This knowledge should prevent him from reporting the crime out of fear, his GF will file charges against him too. Infact since his crime was sexual he would have to register as a SEX offender. Doubts he wants that too.

Actually, what the friend did I'm pretty sure would qualify as simple battery, not assault and not sexual assault. What Duddy did could qualify as assault and battery. Also it is likely that Duddy could get off or plea down due to the circumstance, all he has to say is after he was told what happened that when he saw the guy still in their apartment that he was intent on protecting his gf. Doesn't mean that hitting the guy was the right response. Duddy, you definately dodged a bullet in that he didn't press charges. It seems that you might want to recommend to the guy that he get some counseling, he probably has issues and if he went that far with a friend, he might eventually go farther with another girl.

But seriously dude, I know it's hard to contain yourself in a situation like this, but had you not hit him, you probably could have pressed charges, which at the very least might have gotten him forced counseling he could use. Violence really isn't the answer, it just causes more violence.

Nope in California what the friend did would be assault and battery, a felony. It would also qualify for a sex crime addition.

Short answer ... Maybe. Long answer ... It is an admission that you did something you thought was punishable. If you don't text him, that question won't come up. The girl may decide she wants to file charges regardless of what you want.

If you are really scared, tell the guy you're sorry and maybe he'll forgive you and not call cops

she probably kissed him, felt guilty and decided to make up this story after he turned her down.

Just reading this thread. You are seriously the biggest fool in it. You have no clue about law, the definition of assault, battery, etc. You would have thought after reading other's posts you might have learned something or do a little research. Seriously, don't post any more in this thread before you make more of an asshat of yourself.

OP - I hope your girlfriend is fine. She locked herself in her bedroom for a reason. To make yourself feel better, contact a lawyer.

Who's making an asshat of themselves? Not only did you NOT bother to point out where exactly I was "wrong" about those things, but you're saying it in reply to my pointing out that the girl was in absolutely zero danger. Which she was.

You lose.

You've been following me around in this thread and taking lame potshots the entire time. I get it. I'm gay. I'm lame. Every time you make one of your retarded comments you're just proving you have the mental capacity of a June bug. Either make a real, logical point or keep up with the 7 year old insults. Trust me, they realllly hurt.
