He was trying to rape your girlfriend, what were you supposed to do?
Attempted rape?

OP, so she'd already pushed him off of her and told him to leave her alone. Then she must have called you. Was he standing there kissing her ear the whole time while she was on the phone with you? Why was he still in the apartment when you broke his nose if she'd told him to leave? I'm assuming she told him to leave and not just get up.

She's saying that when he tried to kiss her, it completely shocked the hell out her. After she told him to get the **** off, he walked into the kitchen or something kinda just stood there like he was more embarrased than scared. My girl locked herself into her room.
And so what? She wasn't being harmed when you walked in. Hell, she wasn't being harmed when he tried to kiss her. He was being an ass by trying to take advantage of the situation (him being along with her) but that's no crime.

She told him no and he got up. She called you and told you what happened. She wasn't in too much danger then or else he wouldn't have let her make the phone call.

While you were pissed off and had every right to be, he didn't deserve to be assaulted. She should have told him to leave the premises. And if he hadn't left by the time you got there, you should have asked him to leave. NOT break his nose.

"PUSHED HER ON HER BED, HELD HER DOWN AND TRIED TO FORCEFULLY KISS HER!!!!"
Now you're adding stuff on to the story. That's not what you said in your original post. This is what you said, "As I'm driving back she calls me and tells me that our friend was playing around and pushed her onto her bed, got on top of her and tried to kiss her. She pushed him off and told him to leave her alone. "

I don't see where you said anything about how he held her down AND forcefully kissed her.

Face it. You're just a pissed off boyfriend. And you have every right to be pissed off that another guy put the move on your girlfriend. But it seems like when she told him to get off of her, he did. BTW, that doesn't seem to me like he was holding her down or anything. It seems to me like he was trying to make a move and got shot down. Then she thought you would get mad (rightfully so) and made it into a big deal and then YOU made it into an ever bigger deal by assaulting him.

I'd still press charges against you. BTW, did the cops take pics of the bruises on her arms or the rest of her body?

He's fair game. You're fine. At most maybe you'll get a few days of anger management classes and that's it. But I highly doubt you even commited a crime.

 He was invited into the apartment. You don't have carte blanche to punch someone after you invite them into your house.

This is nothing more than domestic disturbance. They'll ask the girl what happened and no charges filed. No crime commited. All she has to do is say "I was scared".

Done.

OP, your girl wasn't in any danger. The guy did nothing more than a minor party foul. If you'd come in and there was ANYTHING to indicate your girl was in danger, I'd support you 100%. But he was just standing there, embarassed.

You weren't defending her, you were mad. Hitting someone to protect someone else = fine and dandy. Hitting someone because your "short fuse" got ignited and you were pissed? Stupid.

I sincerely hope he presses charges on this matter and causes you a lot of grief. Perhaps it'll force you to grow up and realize that violence is a solution only in extenuating circumstances. "Being pissed" doesn't count.

You are the living definition of a liberal.

Try growing up in Texas a$$hole.

The VT killer also had a short fuse.

Thank God you didn't have access to a deadly weapon during your "adrenaline surge".

The VT killer didn't have a short fuse. He planned that for a LONG time. You'd know that now if you weren't detached from society.
Why are you comparing the VT killer to your situation? Gimme a break.

This country is getting pretty soft. People are so sensitive now. I bet the mere presence of Clint Eastwood is enough to make some of these people cry.

While you are definately right about the presence of Clint Eastwood making people cry, I think you're misunderstanding some replies here. Whether or not you think punching the guy is justified (I do), the fact is you need to control yourself better unless you want to end up a felon. The environment we live in is one in which you cannot assault another person.

One person in particular I knew if I ran into him I would just lose it. Completely explode and beat him to a pulp. I made sure to avoid any situation where I would see him in person because I knew it would only lead to me ruining my future with a felony charge.

Exactly. This is reality, not some fantasy land where the police treat a minor fight between 2 young guys as a serious crime.

Try growing up in Texas a$$hole.

Brilliant. Are people from Texas simply unaware of the reputation Texas has pretty much everywhere that's NOT Texas?

Look, I get it. You're a tough guy defending your girl. Woo hoo. I'd have been pissed too. The fact is, your girlfriend wasn't in danger, you were pissed, and you handled it like a mongloid.

You're not gonna go to jail over this unless the guy has some kind of connections. But you're gonna be surprised how much this inconveniences you if the guy you punched decides to really pursue charges. Furthermore, if you're convinced you actually did something acceptable here, you're well on your way to becoming a thug and going to jail for something else.

As impressive as the "you're gay" and "Don't mess with Texas!" replies are, it's the typical retort of your average Internet Tough Guy who has nothing constructive to say. You're a chump, OP. Hopefully someday you'll grow up.

It is the "victim's" choice whether or not he wants to file charges. A crime was committed and the police aren't going to ignore it if he wants to press charges. Right or not, assault charges are handed out like candy these days and you've got to be a moron to punch someone as an adult. The punishment is way too harsh in many cases for assault. Some cases like these put people in prison, not that I agree with that but it means you keep your hands to yourself.

It's even worse here in WI... there are no self defense laws, so it's assault all the way around for everyone involved.

But this one speaks the truth. I don't understand all this "cops won't care" stuff.

Look man, since my blood pressure has dropped DRAMATICALLY in the last 3 minutes, I want to say I'm very sorry for saying those things to you. You have to understand that my mind wasn't right.

I suppose what I did was wrong, but if I hadn't pulled up at that exact time, he may have tried to assault her in a way that would harm her. You never know, he could have grabbed a knife and tried to force himself on her again.

Come on now. He wasn't going to grab a knife and rape her. She told him to get off after trying to kiss her and he did. He went and cowered in the kitchen instead of leaving (like a smart man would do) and was actually there when you (the boyfriend) arrived.

Yeah, what you did was wrong. But keeping on making excuses for it is ridiculous.

You were pissed. You assaulted him. You're lucky he's not filing charges against you.
