A new pizza/chicken joint opened up nearby and we used a coupon to try their chicken, which they call "broasted chicken".

Turns out it's a trademarked method of pressure cooking and the chicken is delicious - crispy outside and juicy inside, and marinated with some spices. No doubt the best fried chicken I ever had.

Anyone else ever tried it? There's a store locator here if you want to look for some.

I don't think I'll be going back to KFC any more. Only question is how it tastes leftover, but I didn't have any left to find out.

I agree broasted chicken tastes superior...but if it caught on nationwide, KFC could strike it down with one strike by offering it themselves. They have worldwide distribution while Broaster doesn't...so no, KFC isn't going anywhere.

seems like there are a few places around here that sell it, though it looks like most of them are convenience stores.

KFC might also be pressure cooked, but there's no comparison in the results.

Their store locator is a bit screwed. It gave a Dallas address, with a Ft.Worth phone number.

Sounds good though, will have to try it out.

How does broasted = deep fried? Bit of a stretch for a word seemingly derived from roasted...

It's over by North Park mall.

Yeah, I do know where Park Lane is, I just found it weird, that is gave a 817 number, for Ft.Worth. :)

They had one of those in San Francisco. No doubt, it ws the WORST fried chicken I have ever tasted. Maybe that location made it wrong (or used pigeons or something) but it absolutely sucked. They were out of business within the year.

broasted chicken? ha ha ha. It's not bad, but KFC ain't even tops for fried chicken, still NOTHING beats a nice peice of fried chicken. With the extra crunchy outside and the tender, juicy inside. I won't eat chicken that's not fried, that's like eating french fries that somebody baked so they're "better for you" I actually like popcorn chicken, cus you get all the crunchy outside and just enough chicken inside *ummm*

give me extra greesy crunchy goodness. I have heard of a chain in DC called Cluck U, was told they have super deluxe extra greesy chicken, and they even deep fry the buscuits. Can anyone confirm this? Sounds like heaven to me
