It's the winter months now and I'm back on the treadmill...well I should be on it more. Our treadmill resides in our family room near the back (next to the rear surround speakers). When running we all turn the audio up loud when we're watching tv (media center, cable, dvr, etc). I can't stand doing this so I put my ipod in and get board quickly.

So I was thinking how can I broadcast from my reciever to a device so that I can use my ipod and watch tv? Bluetooth...well from what I've read the clarity isn't that good and the hardware (headsets) break easy from the moisture (sweat..yuck). Wiresless headset face the same issue as bluetooth and the headsets are huge!!! So my only other solution is an FM Transmitter. This seems to be the perfect solution because our ipods can tune in the fm frequency being broadcasted from feet away.

Anyone got a better solution or idea?

Bluetooth - I looked at the motorola S10 headset ($65) Transmitter was around $100 and receiver for ipod devices is around $40.

Wireless - The headset bundle runs about $100...again not a good idea.

FM - The transmitters start, atleast the good ones, around $65 and up.

Also, with my reciever do you know if I could set it up to broadcast and play out of my speakers at the sametime?

TIA all ; )

Solution
I"m going to use an FM Transmitter C. Crane FM2 Digital Full Spectrum FM Transmitter from my TV's Speaker out port (TV Speakers are set to off). I will then turn it on and off when needed. There is an other model that's $20 more that offers an auto-off feature, but I don't need that.

Please let me know if you use this solution or found something else.

Thanks,
