Just wondering as i have recently relocated to Arizona and i'm now enjoying a STEADY 3mbits from Cox...

I am only interested in a HOME package...

( Nice upgrade from my 1.5mbit Comcast... )

Any companies offering faster speeds for a REASONABLE price in the home area??

Thanks!

🙂

Edit please include the speeds of the serivce...

If you have 56 GAY, post anyhow... I feel your pain.. 😛

comcast is currently experimenting with 3mbits in some areas. and if all goes well will likely bring it to that point or somewhere near that very soon.

For a low, low price of only $120/mo? 🙂

I myself am also in Arizona although I didn't know Cox existed until I had already paid an enormous amount of money for QWest. My friend down the street from me has Cox and because we are way the hell in the middle of nowhere he gets like 7Mbps.

I assume that is Optium Online ? What speeds and how much are you paying?

$44.95 a month for 10mb down/1mb up

No $hit?

Damn you to hell! We are paying that much for 2mb/512k

WTF?

I was paying 49.99 a month for Earthlink @ 1.5mb/128k. Pieces of crap.

I use Earthlink but I keep switching from whoever has the best cable deal... I forget, I think we get it at half price for 3 months, or just 3 months free. Not sure, hehe. But yeah, same connection rate. I'd like to have a faster connection...

Frontier DSL - has the potential for 3Mbps for $40/month. I haven't seen speeds that high - however, I have downloaded from certain servers at 2.5Mbps. Either way it's boatloads faster than my old RoadRunner cable which was capped at 1.5Mbps but was pretty much only 1-1.2Mbps. Oh, and RR was $45/month.

EDIT: I think it's only like 128 or 256 up though.

SBC DSL, $28/month ($29.95 standard rate, but we have other stuff through them, phone, LD, etc) so the DSL is only $28

1.5/128
Suits me fine.

The best deals though are the college dorms, my friend gets like 500k/sec off of some sites, downloads movies off of Direct Connect (local for A&M only students) at like 1 meg a sec..for free 🙂

I don't quite get it... you're enjoying a steady 3mbits, but you're looking for faster service for the home area? Do you have Cox Business?

I (goodyear, az) have cox.net. While it was 3+mb/sec for quite awhile, it has slowly decreased in speed as more people have signed up around here. Arizona has been horrible as far as high speed internet. It is just recently that cox.net has been readily available around the valley. A lot of us were stuck with dial up not to long ago.

If there's better service here, I haven't heard about it.

Sprint Broadband Direct (Wireless)

Uncapped / Uncapped

I've gotten ~1.5mb/ps download. Upload sucks though, maybe 20kB/sec at most.

Man.. I'm so jealous. Only thing we have out here is 1-way cable that maxes out around 150k/5k and DSL which is around 100k/20k.. We're on DSL, but it's still sad.

Oh no, i am exttttttremely happy with 3mbits... 375 K suits me perfectly.. I was just wondering if anyone on the forums had FASTER HOME service... Other than paying 200 bucs a month or some odd number like that...

I have had cox for about a week and a half now, and it has been a steady 3mbits ALL day everyday... ( Knock on wood )

😀
