What do you people use, how do you like it? We're looking into vonage, but I'd like to know if there are better options.

ive heard you cant really do any interneting while on phone bc it takes up a lot of bandwidth. just heresay(sp?), but heresay(sp?) from these very forums.

anyone else know of this?

Absolutely fvcking ignorantly absurd. My entire download is affected all of 128kbps if I set my voice quality as high as possible. Wow, that's such a huge chunk out of my 32,000kbps connection!

yeah, cause we all have 32 Megabit connections at our homes.

but still, it's not very much 😀

but honestly, wouldn't the money be WAY better spent just upgrading your cell phone plan?

The upload speeds are the problem. Vonage with Verizon 128kb/up DSL is useless.

I signed up with Vonage not too long ago, it's pretty good -- except I seem to get quite a bit of lag between me and whomever I call.

Verizon is the only "broadband" ISP that is still in the stone age -e.g. 128kbps upload cap.

I've got packet8 since they were the only company with numbers in my exchange. Quality is pretty good, quite happy with that, but the customer service gives new meaning to the word terrible. I have no intention to switch right now, but if you email their billing department your email will pretty much go unanswered until you email them again with a CC to like every address you can imagine for a company.
