Broadband dilemma

Out where I live, I have limited choices beyond dialup. I can't get Charter Pipeline here (no digital cable), too far for DSL, satellite is too slow for gaming. I have two choices for wireless: My current ISP is 'going to have soon' wireless, $100 for equipment, $39/mo for 256k, $49/mo for 512k. But when??? They keep pushing the date back. Another local ISP has wireless available now, $200 for setup, $80/mo for 384k (!). If I sign up for 2 years, they'll knock if down to $70/mo. Damn, that's expensive. So what would you guys do, keep plodding along at 31200 on dialup until when/if my ISP gets the cheap wireless going? Or bite the bullet and throw down $70-80/month for the other wireless. This is really irritating, I've been waiting so long to get off dialup, and it's always just out of reach, or damn pricey.

Ride it out or sign up for the more expensive but available option now, but do not sign a two year contract worse case
you switch when the other guys get their system up and running.

but then he's out the $200 for setup.

I'd say ride it out. You've been on dialup for this long, you can wait another couple months.

ask them to wave the $200 setup and bump you back up to $80, then if the cheap one comes out soon you can switch with out loosing as much money.

Keep the dial-up, they have some pretty good internet booster for Dial-up out there that you can use. Even though it's not DSL fast but it's better then just regular dial up.
