Hey everyone,

I a have a DSL connection (BT Ireland 2Mbps) registered to our family business which is on the main street of our town, but our home is on the outskirts of town. the main phone line is in the business premises and we have an extension set up that we switch to the house each day after the business closes. My broadband connection at home is regularly unstable (never use it in business) and phone calls always cause the connection to drops.

I know this is a mess of confusion but please read on. I have a micro filter install on our home phone socket with the DSL and a phone plugged into it.

but what my question is is weather or not I should have the micro filter with a single phone connection installed on the main phone in the business. Would doing this cause the DSL to be filtered out of the line and therefore cause the broadband not to work in our home? I know having lots of devices plugged in interrupts DSL and there are several device plugged into the phone line in the business premises. But I?m not sure if this applies when the phone is switched to our home which only has one phone plugged into a filter.

I've asked my ISP a number of times for help but they never reply, they are for want of better words F#?&ING useless, but I?ve agreed to a 6 month contract so I?m stuck with them for now.

thanks for persevering and reading this.

Filter all the phones, but don't filter the direct connection between dslmodem+ur comp
