Yeah, some of the british comedy doesn't have canned laughter whcih makes it really difficult for me to figure out what's a joke or not. Sometimes, the jokes aren't even really predicable and contrived and actually require me to throw some thought into it... I mean, WTF LOL? what's that about? Some of the chanells don't even have adverts... how am I supposed to watch an entire program for 30 minutes without a 5 minute ad break every 6 minutes?! How are we supposed to concentrate for more that 5 minutes straight? Finally, the actors don't all have bright white teeth, and some (Bill Bailey) are actually ugly bastards! How dare they pollute my eyes! Yeah, stick to good old american TV where the characters learn a little moral at the end of every episode, and the jokes are nice and easy to understand. (easy to make assumptions, isn't it?)
For those with slightly less closed minds and who are up for some decent comedy, try the odd youtube vid of the following to see if you'd like it, then pick up the DVD or something:

red dwarf - I have only seen the first 4 or five seasons and they were great...What happened is the show when on hiatus for like a year or two and then they came back with most of the same cast, but it seemed that it was either before the accident or an alternate universe. I have not seen much of these shows.
Another one that is good is Blake's 7...It is sci-if with a lot of comedy.

Glad I'm not the only one who watches "Extras". Great show. The quality cameos they get every week tell you how well respected he is.
