British people are weird

I'm trying to send James May the present I made him (we're in love, he just doesn't know it yet) so I looked up the Top Gear mailing address, and it's this:

Top Gear programme, Second Floor A, Energy Centre, Media Centre, 201 Wood Lane, W12 7TQ

WTF kind of address is that? D😀:

Just write it on an envelope, get enough stamps and STFU.

He'll get your brownies, man, and then you'll get his.

I've done a bit of work with people that did the OCR and such for the Royal Mail, and I've heard some rather amusing bits on what people actually write as an address on mail. In a small town setting, "house with the red door" might be an appropriate address, yet a computer system isn't going to know that. I mean what if they painted it black?

We wouldn't be having this problem if British people would just write their addresses the right way (how America does it).

I see a red door and I want it painted black...

that's like a shit ton of addresses over here.

Have you ever received/sent mail to a University before, much less been on a fucking campus, schneiderguy?

:hmm:

1) Put London on it
2) Nothing is wrong with that address.
3) What is wrong with you?
4) An address in England is generally laid out like so

123 Road Name
Town
County
Post Code

How is that massively different from America?

err, what is wrong with that address? the street addr is 201 wood lane, w23 7TQ is the postal code, everything before the address is routing info within the address.

In his context, he was correct.... Generally, compared to much of the rest of the world's use of a postal code system, the USA's ZIP code system covers a greater geographical area, well beyond that than segments of neighbourhoods.

Postal codes are generally more specific and geographically precise than ZIP codes. This will always be the limited case of the US ZIP code system as it is composed of 5 digits than the much larger possibilities offered by an alphanumeric system.

1. How am I supposed to know it's in London??
2. It doesn't have a city
3. schneiderguy hates the uk
4. Well this address is missing 2/4 of those.
