i was trying to use my laptop's modem to dial a number in england

011 44 208 9640 029 and have the windows sound recorder record it into a wav.


for some reason my laptop modem deosn't think my phone line has a dialtone.

that's not true, and nothing else is even sharing my line.

spent an hr testing with hyperterminal (dont think phone dialer is in Xp any longer)


and reinstalling the modem driver... just doesnt work.

Can some one record it into a wav or know where online i can get the same file?
