British Open St. Andrews

Anyone been there? Is it right on the ocean?

I've never been, but the course is right next to St. Andrew's Bay IIRC.

edit: pick up the July 2005 issue of Golf Digest for some great pics & a nice feature on the town, course, and tournament.

There are 6 courses are St Andrews, The Old Course where the Open is being held is pretty damn close to the ocean, but not right on it. Both the New Course and the Jubilee Course lie between the Old Course and the beach.

One of my buddies is there right now, watching Tiger Woods light it up with a 66. Ba$tard! I shake my fist at him :|
