Brita or Pur for a sink filtration system?

Were currently using the Pur Plus in-sink filtration... Its $16 for a new filter for it.. But lately it hasnt been tasting so great and the filter is relatively new, so were thinking of replacing the whole unit (its not much more for an entirely new unit)

Which do you reccomend? Which model? Does it make a diff?

Brita now has a neat one with a light that turns red when its bad, kinda neat.

We dont have water reservoirs, this is florida, we got the underground aquafir.

I would go with a reverse-osmosis system. They produce water MUCH cleaner than brita or pur. Ours tests off-scale low on bacteria count.

I have not had a problem with my Brita. I usually don't drink the filtered tap directly, but use it for making coffee and cooking.

Our Brita is over 2 years old and the whole family likes it. Only prob is filling the pitcher and changing filters.

I use Brita. It doesn't taste as good as the water vending machines (the 25c a gallon thingy) but I keep the pitcher in the fridge so it doesn't taste so bad.

When you get the money thats the way to go.. But they are not cheap. I think our wholesale cost is around $130ish for a complete unit. retail $300ish (not positive.)

We have a reverse osmosis system specifically for the water that comes out of our fridge...

It's the best damn water I've ever tasted... better than bottled water...

my parents had a reverse osmosis system in their apartment in malaysia... damn good water. brita pitcher wasn't bad though. if you go to wally world it has a nice competitive chart between the pitcher and sink types.

You're using a plus filter. The plus doesn't do a super job of filtering. The Brita is better than a Pur Plus, but a Pur Ultimate is by far the best.
If you have a BJ's or Sam's club membership you can get a 4 pack of ultimate filters for $39 or less. If not check froogle.google.com for any deals on filters.
