"G0 stepping of conroe dual core usually overclocks to no more than 3.6 GHz and has ACP of 75W
Brisbane Athlon X2 overclocks to 3.6 almost always and has ACP of 55W"

And if you disagree with that you are a "troll on a payroll". :p

Says one troll to another.

edit: And why exactly did you link to a forum? Here's my favorite post from that thread. It seems as if troll is your favorite word:

AzmountAryl,
Why are you constantly calling people Trolls when all they are doing is questioning your comments? You also failed to reply to my post above? is it too much FACT for you ?

Wouldn't a Brisbane at 3.6 perform at around a C2D running 3 to 3.2GHz? What is a C2D's ACP at that speed?

Yeah, they'd be roughly equivalent, if the C2D were less than 3.2 Ghz. Of course, I've yet to see a link with any Brisbane running @ 3.6 Ghz, and there's no way in hell it would have a 55w TDP/ACP at that speed.

I'm calling shens on this too. The deep shit AMD is in right now, if these reports were true, they would probably be releasing 3.4ghz black editions to boost sales in the high end market especially since the errata in phenom is killing clock speeds and performance. Also the name of the forum is AMDZone.

Sorry folks, couldnt resist. Just a reminder how blind fanboism still exists and may disregard even the most basic of facts or truths and how intolerant some can be at attempts to point it out to them, even if the forum is called AMDZone.

Peace. ;)

and the moderator calling people Trolls for posting some facts that obviously refute the guys flawed logic.....wow that is just sad.

Surely that would only be true if the brisbane performed like the higher cached X2 parts? Brisbane is pretty poor clock for clock against the 1mb cache per core X2's, so it'd probably take an even higher X2 clock speed to beat C2D?

Possibly, but then again, we're talking about a C2D with half the cache of the ones that we know are ~500 Mhz faster than a 2x1 MB cache X2. Admittedly, I was just making what seemed to me a ballpark hypothesis.

I think you are missing the point if you think the OP is AGREEING with that statement... he is obviously making fun of the forum AMDzone and its moderators... in the safe environment of anands forum (since obviously calling it to their face would result in a ban).

And yea... Remember the days that the 2.0ghz amd was as fast as a 2.6 (or was it higher?) intel?... now things are reverersed... a 3.6 brisbane would be a match for a 3.0ghz C2D... not faster then a 3.5ghz one (also, hahaha, bullshit, windsor is the fastest boy on the AMD block, brisbanes top at 2.7ghz, windsor tops at 3.2... although my recent attempt to get one showed it to be unstable at that stock speed... and required downclocking even with a zalman 9500 cooler)
