Just got the UPS installed on the home server. (nice Dad's day gift) 🙂
Now if I just had a few hundred extra to do the whole herd at home...

I put in the good old basic Back UPS 500.
The server here is an old AMD K6-233 in a cool Super Micro AT case with a lot of fans. I ran the power for the cable modem and network hub through the UPS as well, so it should survive quite a while if the monitor is off. 😛

That's some serious UPSs for a home system Networkman. [drool]

I too have an APC Back-UPS 500 for my 3 home computers. Only one monitor is plugged in the UPS and I have remote control on the others (With VNC). 🙂
 
Just added a small CyberPower 500VA to my main computer + cable modem and router...

I then set the other 2 computers to self power and log on when power returns....

Should keep me cracking the next couple of weeks while I'm away, assuming the power doesn't stay off longer than 15 minutes or so...

I'm addicted....😀

Here's a little info for those who want a little more 😛

Did you all know that many are powered by 12 volts internally if the power goes off? 😛 Check this out for more standby time.

My server has a Tripp lite BCPro450. When the battery went bad I wired in an Optima "yello top" 12 volt battery. Now there is plenty of time to run for hours. 😀 😀 😛 These batteries are available from and Interstate battery dealer. They are easily mounted in any position, even upside down, with no problem.
